Wooden Colors

Over the weekend I went shopping with some friends and we had so much fun! I am so thankful for the friends they are! Anyways my friend spotted these and insisted upon my purchasing them. I am so glad she did! I've always wanted some but had never found a set of them and these are perfect.  So here is some color love because everyone needs a little color in their lives! Have a great week!!

And the wedding bells ring....

Well actually, there were not any wedding bells instead there was a beautiful cross with a lovely Texas June breeze, which honestly is very unusual for Texas.  Technically about this time we are all dying from the heat but this summer has been gracious to us with cool breezy mornings... I hope it lasts!

Anyways my cousin got married this past weekend and it was a truly beautiful wedding, completely Christ honoring in every way.  Truly a joy to witness and be a part of.
I was honored to work as a 2nd photographer or personal photographer for my aunt, so basically I let the "real" photographer do his job and I went around taking pictures of the family and really anything else that caught my eye.... and so I did.  I had way too much fun with it! What also made it such a memorable time was that I knew many of the people so it made things more comfortable when going up and asking if I could take someone's picture.

Simple stationary

After such an awful pinterest project fail last week I wanted to create something that is pretty and simple.  So this week I'm working on a card, I have always loved making cards.  Now writing in them has never come naturally but I absolutely love making them.  I enjoy being creative and make a card as pretty as I possibly can.  I have done tons of birthday cards, Mother's day cards and once I had an order for a wedding card. That was fun and a bit of a challenge.  Father's day cards are the hardest because all the paper I have is bright, floral and contains lots of pastel colors ;)
My favorite cards would definitely be the ones I made last Mother's day, I used watercolors to paint a single flower on each card.
These cards are so simple to make and quick they don't take to long which is perfect when in a rush.

Trace the outside of your envelope, to make half of the card, directly above trace again to make a complete card.  Another easy thing to do would be to measure it.  If you have trouble making it just right, measuring is definitely your best bet. :)

I drew a line across my paper and then took a spool of thread and traced half moons onto it to the point of the line to make them even.

Take a little glue and dab just the tiniest amount into the crease of the card to make sure that the two individual pieces of paper don't separate.
Trim a little bit of paper off of the paper that has the scalloped edge so that a little of the paper underneath shows.  Totally optional.
Told ya! Simple and pretty perfect for most any occasion! And to add a little more personality add little paper rosette.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Spring Break 2014 Recap

So can I just start by saying that Spring Break was pretty great!  It was relaxed, full of fun and just pretty awesome. I wrote down everything I did this week so that I would be able to look back and remember what a great week I had.
doodling on my new phone case :)
It was my friends birthday and the theme was Britain, so I made her this card with a glitter flag in the front.  I think I might have messed it up a little bit, oops.

Just journaling.  Our worship Pastor was talking about how worship is a lifestyle and while many people give 97% of their lives its that last 3% that is so hard to fight for.  Its a daily choice.

We had all of our neighbors over for a fun filled night of flashlight hide and go seek.  It was pretty awesome!
I read a saying the other day that said  "You can't buy happiness... but you can buy tea... which is pretty much the same thing." :)  There's a lot of truth to that statement. lol
Pulled out my violin and tried my new neck rest! Makes all the difference.
I've been trying to be consistent with my Pinterest faves projects and I promise I worked on one but it kind of turned into one of those nailed it pictures.
The balloon didn't pop like it showed in the picture.  I'm not sure what I did wrong but it just goes to show you that not everything on Pinterest works, and be careful with what you choose to make.  I think one day I will try to make this again, but next time I will use a brand new balloon (this balloon was kind of old) and I'll research more into if it needs a particular kind of glue or not and how long it needs to sit before you pop the balloon.  Maybe I'll make a tutorial on how to make the card instead.  It was much more successful anyway. :)
Oh well.  Tomorrow its back to school which I kind of have mixed feelings about.  I'm ready to back to the books but it was really nice to be able to just sit and fold laundry without being in a rush.  To be able to clean the kitchen all day long because there's no school that I have to get right back too as soon as I finish my meal.  I found myself getting a little bored though.  So I'm ready to back into it.  I have some Shakespeare to study because our class is performing it, mind you something I've never done before...ack!  I have a song I need to get down correctly for chorus and a few other things to do, otherwise it will be a pretty average week.
Anyways this post kind of went all over the place but I guess that's what happens after Spring Break :P
I hope y'all have a wonderful and very blessed week!!
So long Spring Break.... just a few weeks away ti'll Summer!
